TRIBUTO A NERONE

 (TRIBUTE TO NERONE)

Oil on canvas, dimensions 100×70 cm.

Description of the work

The work represents a cockerel which is the emblem of the painter Nerone, whose real name is Sergio Terzi, to whom the artist is particularly attracted, considering him one of his favourite artists.

In the centre of the painting there is a threatening cockerel with its wings spread open, behind the bird there is a field which leads into the night, gradually incorporated by the day.

This explains the apprehension that Nerone had of the night, to the extent of considering the cockerel as the symbol of salvation, as its crowing announced the arrival of the new day and consequently the means to make his fear pass.
